Rental Assistance Program 

Hennepin County residents in need of rental assistance are encouraged to apply to the below link for assistance through the county at this time.

CAP-HC is primarily focusing its rental assistance to households that may not qualify for mainstream resources and those who have been denied by other programs.

Emergency Rental Assistance Eligibility Guidelines 
 
To be eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • ·A resident of Hennepin County
  •  Living at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines
  •  Do not have sufficient funds to cover housing costs, including earned income, Minnesota   Family Investment Program (MFIP),   disability benefits, Unemployment Insurance, stimulus payments,   etc.
  •  Not living in public housing, receiving ongoing rental assistance   such as Section 8 or Housing Support, or using emergency   assistance from another source for this month
  •  Provide a current lease agreement
  •  Provide written documentation from the landlord of the amount of   rent owed
  •  Not exceed the household limit of one grant every 24 months
